The end for postage stamps?

The Royal Mail in the UK has this week begun to sell stamps on the web, that can be purchased, printed at home or office directly onto an envelope or sticky label. Is this the end of postage stamps as we know them? The move has also started a hoohaa because the online stamps will not feature that icon of Britain, the Queen's head on the postage stamp.
