Several times this year I have had the misfortune to travel long-haul routes on British Airways. I like the airline, and the in-flight staff are usually very nice and efficient, but their economy seating is simply the pits. I understand that the BA market reach is targeting Business Class (and hey, who wouldn't like one of those fancy sleeping pods that you get) but this last flight, was quite horrendous. I am not 'of slight build' to begin with, but when placed next to a very large woman who amply filled her seat and borrowed a little more from either side of her, I began to think of seat prices based upon body mass! The flight was chockablock full, as BA usually are on weekends out of Johannesburg. I was forced into a BA flight this time, next time I shall make my bookings with more than saving a few pounds in mind.
