Nanny Nation

Health and Safety rules supreme here on Mud Island. One evidence of this was in the small print on the back of a greeting card. It was a Mother's Day card (celebrated in the UK as mothering Sunday, in March, not the May date we are used to in the rest of the world). Clearly a card for a mother from a daughter, the advisory on the back of the card reads: not suitable for children under the age of three. So all knee-high three year olds may not be mothers in the UK, because the card company says so.
