The rocky
kranses (small cliffs) of the Wild Coast in the Transkei, on South Africa's eastern coatline. Around the corner to the left is
Morgan Bay, where we spent a night on our way north from Port Elizabeth to Munster. Behind me in the photo are two relocated Zimbabweans.
Libby Norton was from Harare, and now living in Morgan Bay, working at the
Morgan Bay Hotel.
Tim Field still has a farm up at
Troutbeck, but for how much longer is not certain, and so he and
Dawn have managed to build a retirement home also at Morgan Bay. It was lovely to stay with Libby and meet up with the Fields, who have been such great friends to my Mom and late Dad when they too lived in
Troutbeck. As an aside, Tim's father,
Sir Winston Field, co-founded the RF Party with
Ian Douglas Smith, and he was Rhodesian Prime Minister from 1962-1964, when Ian Smith replaced him in something of an internal action.

Thanks, Jack! I enjoyed looking at all your pictures of Vietnam. Contact me sometime about the war I was in - the Rhodesian Bush war of 1972-1979. Like the US, we also only got the silver medal for that one! - MDT
Thanks for the links-those pics are lovely!! :-)
