Family Pics Time
Here is a picture taken last weekend just before we left for the airport. Jason and Michelle with Rhys and Matthew, on the deck of their wooden home on the farm, near Craddock in KwaZulu Natal. We had a really lovely time with them at the farm and at the beach - I will post some more pictures of the beach and the kids, soon.

Grandson #2 makes his entrance

Rose and I are very proud, pleased, and thankful to God, for the safe arrival of gorgeous Matthew Callum Vaughan-Davies. He is a brother for Rhys. Mommy, Michelle, is recovering well in the Midlands Medical Centre in Pietermaritzburg. Daddy, Jason, is over the realisation that he nopw has two boys to raise, and is as proud as can be. Rhys has seen his kid brother yesterday, but remains a little bemused by the whole thing. Michelle says he is quite different in appearance and character, after one day of having him. He was born yesterday, 7 September 2006, weighed 3.4 kilos, and measured 54 cm in length. He has lots of dark brown hair, and very large lungs judging from the sound he made when he popped out of Moo's tum during a caesarian section. We are looking after Rhys, which is a real joy.

Whose the apple of my eye, then?

This is without a doubt my favourite family photo from our recent (and lovely) break away. Proud dad Jason, happy mommy Michelle, and the most gorgeous baby (can't help the bias) in four-month old Rhys. He just cut his first two teeth this week.
Our holiday took us to Port Elizabeth, Morgan Bay, Munster, Umhlanga Rocks, Pietermaritzburg, and a final week at home with lots of family from all over. It included a family wedding (nephew Brett and Candace), kids and grandson (yep that's him in the pic) with us at a lovely cottage down the KwaZulu Natal south coast, a Christening (Rhys of course), and a daughter's 21st birthday celebrations (Ashleigh) ... no wonder I haven't had time or inclination to blog for a whole month!
