The Life of Weather Balloons

Happened across this interesting site this morning, and was fascinated by the pictures of what a weather balloon sees in a trip up and then down. This experiment took place in Alberta, Canada, and chronicles the trip from 0 feet above ground level, up to 117,597 feet OGL and then back to the ground again. Reading what happened to the people in this project once the internet got hold of the story, is also worth reading. They obviously have had much fun with all of this, and their experience of being 'slash-dotted' is instructive. Thanks for sharing this with the world, fellas.

Surreal haircut

I had a haircut by Rose today, and later in the evening found some amazing and highly creative photos by a photogapher named Chema Madoz. This Spanish artist, for his surrealistic photography is surely art, seems to find new meanings in the way he photographs everyday objects. You can see more of this interesting and thoroughly entertaining work here.

A winter's afternoon
I took this photo just before 5.30pm today. We were on the Worthing pier, looking back towards part of the town. The pic was snapped with a 2.5 second time exposure on a whim.

Picasa 2
Although I am only getting to know Picasa 2, it is a great bit of software from the Google boys and girls! Especially for adding pics to blogs. If you haven't got it, go get! Remember that version 1 must be uninstalled first or you will have two versions running and all that indexing of all your digital media content. Can I say it again, this is a great piece of software!
