The Life of Weather Balloons

What a balloon sees 117,000 feet up in the air

Happened across this interesting site this morning, and was fascinated by the pictures of what a weather balloon sees in a trip up and then down. This experiment took place in Alberta, Canada, and chronicles the trip from 0 feet above ground level, up to 117,597 feet OGL and then back to the ground again. Reading what happened to the people in this project once the internet got hold of the story, is also worth reading. They obviously have had much fun with all of this, and their experience of being 'slash-dotted' is instructive. Thanks for sharing this with the world, fellas.
