I am currently flying (in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004) Charles Lindebergh's famous plane, The Spirit of St. Louis. Slowly! It first flew from San Diego to St. Louis, and as I write this, I have just landed in St. Louis. When I next have time, I will try and recreate the next leg from St. Louis to New York, and then the real cross-Atlantic trip. After playing with big, fast, jets, my admiration for the early pioneers of aviation has grown ... Lindbergh could not even see forwards without using a periscope!
