Vive le France!
Image courtesy of TravelBlog - thanks!
Yabbadabbadoo, we are almost on holiday. We head for Gatwick 3am tomorrow, lose the car, find the flight, and head off for a week on the French med. Mostly in Antibes, starting off in Nice to celebrate our 31st wedding anniversary. We are so ready for a holiday!

Holidays!

Mark left work today around 5.30pm and doesn't need to go back until 5 January 2009! Wahoo! Rose will also have some time away from the office from Thursday, until just after Christmas. So we hope to finally get a breather - its been a hooligan of a year in some ways.

Remember Good Times Here?
Way back in the 1970s, when the world was a simpler place, this building was the heart of a holiday empire. The location is Mozambique, Beira, and this old shell of a building is the Estoril, where I can remember eating in the ground floor restaurant, and visiting friends staying in the rooms above. It was quite a weird feeling standing on the road looking up at this and then across the road at the old lighthouse - unchanged except for the fact that the rotating light does not work anymore, and has been replaced by a much less powerful flashing bulb.
