A Computer Geek's Concise History of the Internet is an excellent one-stop place for a quick, bird's eye view, of the recent history of the progress of computing and the intenet. For me, who confesses to moving heaven and earth in order to buy a ZX81 when they first appeared in 1981, it amazes me at how much growth and development has happened so quickly.
