An airborne para-surfer rides the cold Atlantic waters at the beaches around Table View in Cape Town yesterday. The beach had dozens, probably scores, of macho-looking men all hanging onto expensive bits of kit and looking like they were having huge amounts of fun. I was jealous! The picture shows the high-rise CBD of Cape Town dwarfed against the largesse of Table Mountain. We humans like to think we have it all under control, but this picture made me think about the power of creation - the mountans, the sea, the wind - and how little we really are, how little we really know. Cape Town weather yesterday was superb, and allowed a delightful drive up the West coast a little ways.
