A couple of weeks back, I was in Bamako, capital city of Mali, and this city straddles the Niger River. I like to visit local markets in cities I visit, and this time was on a mission to get a West African short of some kind (ended up with two colourful Mali batik on cotton shirts that I think are great, whilst others have to waer sunglasses it seems). There are thousands of motor cycles on the streets of Bamako, and this picture shows a few at the entrance to the market. The youngsters were just fooling around with me, but a few seconds later a very angry Muslim mullah shook his finger at me and made me understand quickly that I should put my camera away!
