Going Live in Macomia

Bob Bartz took this picture a few weeks ago. It is the temporary recording booth, if you can call it that, at the soon to be new FM station in Macomia. The station is being built by AIM (Africa Inland Mission) in the far north of Mozambique, aiming at (excuse the pun) reaching the Mwane people who live along the coast there. When I was last in Macomia a year ago, the foundations were just being dug, so it is great to hear about the progress. The location is about 50 kms from the coast, but up high on a mountain range, so the signal has a clear spread to the coast, and should reach 95% or more of Mwane speakers.
