Bootlegging the fuel we needed



A picture of our car boot at Messina (near the Zimbabwe/South Africa border) where we filled up the car before heading north to take care of Mum Gibb's funeral, and be with family. Messina is now called Musina.

183 litres ... 140 of them went into the jerry cans you see filling the boot. We had to take all the fuel we would need because of the fuel crisis in Zimbabwe. The frozen 5 litre bottle of water became very useful the next day when we came across a horrid accident and stopped to help (see the story in another posting).

The cool bags contained a variety of assorted liquid refreshments ...
