Today I finished reading
LOST MOON, The Perilous Voyage of Apollo 13 written by
Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Klufer in 1994. It is about the nearly disastrous fifth mission to the moon in NASA's Apollo series. I enjoyed the book a great deal, remembering being a 13 year old and listening to
the unfolding drama on the radio at my grandfather's house. We must have been on holiday in Durban at the time, in April 1970, and fascinated with space like most young boys, those four days reported on radio made for fascinating and nerve-gripping drama.
The drama was made into the move
Apollo 13, directed by Ron Howard, and starring Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, and EdHarris
