Sign seen in our house in New England

This is something all teenagers need to learn ... and yet, funny, when I asked the ones that inhabit this house from time to time, they seem mystified as to why the sign was put up there. So I asked a parent, who casually mentioned that most teens act like they would rather donate a kidney than replace a toilet roll ... so some things absolutely cross cultures, continents and languages!
