Can you eat a seagull?

The seagulls here are without fear and peer through the ward windows looking longingly at our lunches today.

This one was quite large and plump. It started an interesting conversation about whether or not seagull can be cooked and eaten by humans. Nobody here has a clue.

Would seagull meat be full of good nutrition seeing they eat lots of fish? Or bad for you because they scavange and steal? What could you put into a seagull casserole, or would a gull pie and gravy be scrumptious? Answers on a postcard!
